For anyone interested in the New Testament, I highly recommend watching the series, The Chosen. The Chosen is a drama based on the final 3 years of Jesus's life and his disciples. It is free to watch through the Chosen App, Netflix, ROKU, and other streaming services. I would suggest watching it from the start so you can see for yourself how the characters develop.

While it is a drama, it is based on the four Gospels and many other letters and writings of the Apostles. It also draws on research done by biblical and rabbinical scholars. The Chosen App has a large amount of this background work covered in additional videos that are interesting to watch. What I found of particular interest is that each of the four Gospels presents various events in Jesus's life in different orders. In ancient Israel, it was the custom of writers not to present things in chronological order but in the order the writer thought would best get his point across. So the order of events may catch you a little off guard, but there is no way to know for sure what the actual historical order was.

I think the show is excellent at portraying the love, compassion, caring, and frustration Jesus had with the various people, religious leaders, and even his own disciples.
